Data Deletion Instructions

Last updated:

You can ask Black Track to delete your data at any time. This page explains how to remove Black Track's access to your Meta (Facebook) data and delete what we received, how to delete your Black Track account, what we delete and how long it takes, and how to check the status of a request.

Black Track is operated by GLOBAL EQUITY ENT. LTDA (CNPJ 64.439.738/0001-32). For how we handle data in general, see our Privacy Policy.

Check the status of a deletion request

When you ask for deletion through Facebook, Facebook gives you a confirmation code and a link to this page. When you open the link, the status of your request appears below. It shows when we received the request, whether deletion is still in progress or completed, and the completion date. If we cannot complete part of a request, for example because the law requires us to keep a specific record, the status explains why.

If the status does not appear, or if you have questions about it, email your confirmation code to [email protected].

Option 1: Remove Black Track in Facebook

From your Facebook account

  1. Log in to Facebook.
  2. Open Settings & privacy and then Settings.
  3. Open Business integrations.
  4. Find Black Track in the list of active integrations, select it and choose Remove.
  5. Confirm the removal.

If Facebook offers the option to ask Black Track to delete the information it received, when you remove it or later from the list of removed integrations, use it. Facebook will send the request to us and show you a confirmation code with a link to track the request on this page.

From a business portfolio

If you connected Black Track for a business portfolio, an admin of that portfolio can remove it in Business settings, under Integrations and then Connected apps: select Black Track and remove it.

Facebook and Meta Business Suite sometimes change the names and location of these menus. If you cannot find them, use Option 2 or Option 3.

What happens next

When Meta notifies us, or when our next synchronization finds that our access was removed, we stop all requests to Meta for that connection, delete the access token immediately and delete the other Meta data from that connection within 30 days. See What we delete.

Option 2: Disconnect and delete in Black Track

  1. Sign in to the Black Track application at app.blacktrack.org.
  2. Open the Meta connection page, at app.blacktrack.org/integrations/meta.
  3. Next to the connection you want to remove, choose Disconnect and delete.
  4. Confirm.

Only owners and admins of a workspace can disconnect it. We delete the access token immediately and the other Meta data from that connection within 30 days. If you connected a business portfolio, we also recommend removing Black Track from the portfolio's connected apps, as described in Option 1, so that it no longer appears there.

Option 3: Email us

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion request" and include:

  • the email address of your Black Track account or, if you do not have an account, the name on your Facebook profile;
  • the workspace name, and the business portfolio or ad account IDs, if the request is about a specific Meta connection;
  • what you want deleted: your Meta data, specific data, or your entire account; and
  • your confirmation code, if Facebook gave you one.

We will confirm receipt within 5 business days. To protect your data, we may ask you to confirm that you are the account holder or an admin of the business portfolio concerned, for example by replying from the email address on your account.

Delete your entire Black Track account

To delete your account and all of its data, the account owner should email [email protected] from the email address on the account. We will delete your account, the workspaces you own and all of their data, including Meta data, click, interaction and conversion data, settings, logs and team members. Deleting a workspace removes it for everyone who has access to it. Export any reports you want to keep before you send the request, because deleted data cannot be recovered.

What we delete

When you remove Black Track or ask us to delete your Meta data

  • the access tokens Meta issued to Black Track for that connection;
  • the connection details: the business portfolio ID and name, and your name and app-scoped Facebook user ID;
  • ad account details: ID, name, currency, time zone and status;
  • the names and IDs of campaigns, ad sets and ads obtained from Meta;
  • ad performance data obtained from Meta, such as spend, impressions, clicks, reach and conversions; and
  • the datasets (pixels) selected through that connection, the related Conversions API settings, and their delivery logs.

Your click, interaction and conversion data from your own pages and checkouts is not Meta data, so it stays in your workspace. To delete it too, delete your account or tell us in your email.

When you delete your account

Everything listed above, plus your profile, your workspaces and their settings, click, interaction and conversion data, webhook and postback logs, Conversions API logs, audit logs, team members and invitations.

How long it takes

  • Meta access tokens: deleted immediately when the connection is removed or your request is processed. We stop all requests to Meta for that connection at the same time.
  • Everything else: deleted from the Service within 30 days of the request.
  • Backups: copies in encrypted backups are deleted within up to 30 additional days, when those backups are overwritten. Backups are used only to restore the Service after a failure, and if we ever restore one, we apply your deletion again.

What we cannot delete

  • Data Meta already has. Events that were sent to your Meta dataset through the Conversions API, and any other data held by Meta, are controlled by Meta under its own terms. You can manage them with Meta's tools, such as Events Manager, or by contacting Meta.
  • Records the law requires us to keep. For example, access logs of our website and application, kept for six months under Brazil's Internet Civil Framework (Marco Civil da Internet, Law No. 12.965/2014), and billing and tax records, generally kept for five years. We keep these records restricted, use them only for that legal purpose and delete them when the period ends.
  • Data needed for legal claims. If specific records are needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, we keep them only for as long as that need lasts.

If any of these exceptions applies to your request, we will tell you, and the status of your request will explain it.

If you are a visitor or customer of a business that uses Black Track

If a business uses Black Track on its website or checkout, that business controls the data collected about you, and we process it only on its behalf. To ask for deletion, contact the business directly. You can also email [email protected] with the name of the website or business, and we will forward your request and help the business respond. You can also delete the cookies in your browser at any time, which removes the Black Track click ID from that browser.
